S5 Irons Use or Not

Well i got a j-spec engine when i bought a 90 rx the guy said the motor was good but ya i knew better. Well i decided to rebuild because these things sit for so long. Well i removed the irons and found some water damage to the irons. There is some minor pitting but i don't know if i should reuse or not the pitting is on the bottom of the irons not in any oil seal region. I am going to use all new internals apex seals side seals the whole deal and i am not going for high hp so ya. Other then the pitting they are smooth as can be so what do i do. Here are some pics thanks in advance.

um I wouldn't use them. The question is how did the water get there ya know... maybe it blew a water seal, bottom line I would just get another iron. The pits could compromise your compression in the long run, they aren't going to get any better, just worse and the pits will get bigger from combustion etc. If thats an NA I know where you can get a good set of irons for cheap that have no pits and perfect waterjackets... PM me if you decide to get better Irons...

Clean them up with a light oil and high grit wet/dry sand paper. You cant really see much in those pictures except that one pit.

No such thing as a "J-spec NA".

I'd dump it.
The pits can cause blow-by on the side seals and oil control rings.
Lots of good used irons out there, especially on eBay.

try to clean them up.

if theres actual pitting/corrosion where we see those stains then they are no good.
