S5 afm on a S4 setup...

A while back i got a s5 afm, wired it up and tried to use it on an s4 stock setup. It obviously did not work... It started, but hesitated and and bogged alot. Would an SAFC ( which i now have) be able to fix these issues? or is there no way to really run this s5 afm? Im interested in using an s5 afm strictly for cosmetic purposes... when building a ram air/ CAI setup on an NA.

No thoughts, but check why they are not compatible.
It may be something as easy as re wiring it.

Oh thats right, its a maf / afm.

The work differently so it will not give out a proper reading that the ECU is looking for.

IMO the gain would be 99% cosmetic... So i wonder what i can do to get this to work? Is it a simple as wok out the AFR kinks with the SAFC... or what? If people have done it.. any thought son where to search?

Joshey my boy! long time no see.. I could have told MYSELF that it wasn't plug and play... ( first hand experience) LOL.

i have a box,is more like a patch loom that lets you plug in the s5 AFM on the S4 harness without any mods,i did this (mod) long time ago but i did corrected all the problems using a greddy e-manage,before you install the e-manage you set it up for s4 afm and then when you plug and power up the e-manage you pick the s5 afm,it does some correction not pefect but i fine tunned with the software, the car ran fine for while until my coolant seals die

Josh.. yes i did rear that a while back.. thanks! i pmed the author for his thoughts...

It seems basic enough.. could using the hot-wire setting on the SAFC solve the problem of mal-input into the ecu?

I found that link very interesting.

I wish it would have gone into compensating for the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor in S5 ECU.
