S4 vs S5 trannies
Are there any differences between S4 and S5 transmissions? I have a turbo transmission that I put in my S4 'vert (with the rest of the driveline etc), and the plugs for the 5th gear switch, reverse lights etc did not match up at all. The S4 ones were a lot more square, whereas the new ones were more rounded. I dont know if this is an NA=> turbo difference, s4=>s5 difference, or what, but upon hooking everything up, not only do the reverse lights not work anymore, but neither does the speedometer. Are there differences in the sensors/speedo gears from different models/series transmissions?

If the speedometer gears where different the gauge would still work but not be accurate. As for the switches if the connectors didn't match I would probably just rewire them.

yea, i did cut and swap the connectors between the old and new trannies, i just didnt know if there was something different in the outputs between the two series (not that i know how else mazda would build a switch besides 12V or GND). I'll go thru and check the wiring and speedo again.
