Actually there were very few winning silver (champagne) s5 models with a burgundy/plum interior. IT is not as red as the s4 burgundy, almost purple. It kinda looks good, but I dont think I could deal with it on a daily basis.

Oh noes I can't decide! I like whatever I have. Let me "borrow" all the others and test them then I'll get back to you.
*edit* just to make the polls even I voted for the S5.

Ironic that an s4 owner is talking about cheap plastics breaking when I almost never see an s4 car with an unbroken radio trim, a/c vents, or idiot cluster surround, while low and behold those parts are usually in good shape on s5's.
s4 cars are usually beat to hell. The front ends look like the owner tried to drive through a parking lot blindfolded. The interiors are usually ratty, half the electronics are flashing/beeping/non functional, and the seats look like someone had teeth in their ***. Half the time the console or lid is broken and the shifter feels like one from a mack dumptruck.
years newer.

were you trying to describe my car? Because you did a pretty damn good job, except for the bumper part, it's alright just a bit faded. I haven't had any experience with an s5 either driving or working on it so I can't say, asthetically though I like both when done up right

The interior was ugly as all hell.

I keep hearing people say how the s5 FC's have so many electronics and electrical issues. The only additional electronics I know of are the electric OMP and US sliding seatbelts in coupes (which are free warrantied for life). But several other improvements were made. The TPS is more accurate and self adjusting...the ECU has an additional ground and for the most part the 3800 hesitation and other dumb s4 issues are gone. The s5 cars in general usually have FAR less flaky electrical issues such as blinking seatbelt lights, flashing shift up lights, random beeping from the dash, etc.
In my experience (hundreds of FC's) the s5 is more of a "plug and play" setup that you turn the key on and go, while the s4 is more of a "tune and adjust" setup that requires a couple weeks' worth of tweaking to get it stabilized and idling, running smoothly across the board, etc.

The ticking is ******* annoying, and I mean it. i can't figure out what the hell it is I posted here before no one answered, sometimes it happens when the belts "try" to move since their broken, but sometimes its when you start the car, etc.

Overall I like everything about the s5 better, including the door panels. 6" speakers sound better than the 4" dash ones. I never did like the cheap-looking s4 Vert speakers up high on the door panels......looked like an engineering department afterthought IMO. I do however prefer the s4 radio bezel over the s5. Every one of the s5 bezels warp and bow at the top and bottom after just a few years. I actually bought a new s4 bezel and put it in my s5 GXL. Most of the s4 bezels cracked because most people that have tried to remove them don't know about the 2 hidden screws behind the vent grille and they give it a yank. Here's my s5 with s4 bezel....

Simply because of what Juiceh alluded to. There are more s4's, therefore more s4 owners, therefore more s4 owners on Rx7club.com... And yes, therefore the poll will be biased towards the majority's personal cars.
Two of my Rx7's... s4 GXL vs. s5 GXL. Not a pure comparison, but a good one. The picture was taken with the intention to show the differences between the two relatively "upgraded" stock Rx7's--or the two different directions one could go. The first has s4 trim and the subdued body-lines, I.E. sport-spoiler, aero-package in front of the rear-wheels, closed sunroof etc. Sadly the photo doesn't show the *new* s4 front lip it has, (offered by Corksport), which is also awesome and very subtle. The s5 on the other hand has the agressive s5 rear-spoiler, offset by the MS front-lip and the popped sunroof. All it's missing are the stock s5 turbo side-skirts...

Well I just picked up an S4. So I have both an S4 and S5. Although, my S4 is probably in better overall shape than my S5. (with the exception of a dent on the driver side rear quater panel) But in a S4 vs. S5 competition, I would say stock to stock I like my S5 better.
