S4 TII LSD Rebuild Questions

OK, so I'm looking for the parts to rebuild an S4 LSD. As I understand it, the thicker parts I can get, the faster the LSD will lock. Is that correct?

My Mazda dealership doesn't have anything for S4 TII's listed except for the WHOLE third member (which they can't even get anymore...not that I'd want to pay that much for it...). So I found a Mazdaspeed dealer (closest one is like 750 miles from here...) and THEY stock the internals.

Here are the part numbers they gave me (NOTE: these numbers are all for the thickest parts they had listed):

Friction Disc: P020-27-257
Friction Plate: P020-27-258
Thrust Washer: P020-27-258
Conical Spring/Pinion Seat: P020-27-266

I remember them saying that the Thrust Washers were 1.77mm (FSM says 1.6mm stock, 1.8mm oversized) -- this one didn't scare me. What DID was that the thickest Friction Discs they had were 1.75mm (FSM says 2.0mm stock, 2.1mm oversized, 1.9mm limit).

According to who-sells-it.com, the 2.1mm O/S discs are M020-27-257 (from 81-88 NA cars w/ LSD) and the 1.8mm O/S thrust washers are M020-27-254 (also from an 81088 NA, thought I figure the .03 mm doesn't make too much of a difference, though I could be wrong).

Can anyone help me out with what parts I should get to do this? Here are the images I got the alternate part numbers from after Hall Mazda in Virginia Beach so kindly provided me with the part numbers they had:

And here's a link to the whole guide:

Thanks,

Collin

i think you need to reread the catalog/FSM the turbo and NON turbo diffs are DIFFERENT. the 81-88 NA clutch packs won't fit the turbo and vice vera.

secondly, any mazda dealer can get the parts, they aren't competition parts, just normal rebuild

You can replace your old worn clutches with new thicker clutches. And replace the shims with thicker shims which will all put more pressure on the clutches helping them lock up.
