Question s4 taillight rebuild

Had a little fender bender with a buddy of mine and cracked one of the lenses on my taillight. I got a replacement from a friend, but the black border on it is kinda scratched and faded. The one that's on my car is fine, it's just the lens that's cracked, so i was wondering is it possible to swap out the lenses and if so how?

not sure about the housings on these, but usually lenses are held on by some sort of silicone adhesive. should be able to heat them up with a heat gun or low setting in an oven, and take off the lenses. try to reuse the adhesive or get some more to reseal them when done.

also there are usually metal clips holding the 2 parts together, remove them before applying any heat.

might make more sense to tape the lenses off and reshoot the black trim area.
