S4 T2 Vacuum Hose / Injector Questions
So I had some various problems with parts of the acv leaking, the car still had the subzero system on it and I was putting on a RB downpipe / exhaust so the split air could go as well. Figured it would be as good a time as any to delete those functions and simplify the vacuum setup. With that being said, I have searched and searched and discovered many threads that go into detouring fuel lines and taking off the bac, egr, etc. I have no need to do that right now so I am leaving everything else in place.
So I have a few questions from people that have done this before...
Issue 1: Where are you rerouting the vacuum hoses to? I have attached a diagram (please excuse the iphone photo editing)
Attachment 529194
1. Ran to EGR
2. Now unused due to ACV delete...
3. Now unused due to ACV delete...
4. Now unused due to ACV delete...
5. Ran to secondary fuel rail
6. Connected to #7
7. Connected to #6
8. Connected to #9 (on firewall side of UIM)
9. Connected to #8 (port between OMP injectors on LIM)
10. Ran to BOV
11. Left alone (runs to other side of TB)
(Not shown) I used the port on the flange of the UIM where it bolts to the LIM to run to the pressure sensor on the passenger shock tower.
What is everyone doing with 2,3,4? Cap it where they are? Cap it farther back by the solenoids?
Any of that seem like a problem? Better suggestions?
Issue 2: I got new injector o-rings since I had to pop the primary rails off. I coated them in fuel since that's what the manual said to do. I had a bad leak and when I took the injectors back off I saw this:
The o-ring was chewed to garbage. Both were like this. What happened? Obviously I have to get new ones as well as upper and lower grommets for them.
Thanks!

On the injector, silicone spray and patience when putting them on, you have two options, insert the injectors into the rail, then down into the keg and add your bolts, or put the injectors in the keg then add your fuel rail. Pending how you have it apart you might find it easier to put the injectors in the rail then into the keg.

That's a good thought on the spray. I will also try putting them in the rail first since that seems to be the part where things go bad since the o-rings are much more delicate than the other gaskets. Ordered my stuff today so it should be here Friday so we will see! Hopefully it quits trying to burn itself down haha.
Anyone got any thoughts on the vacuum lines? Particularly the ones left open currently due to the partial emissions removal?
Thanks!

So.. Little update...
Pulled off my egr for fun:
Don't think it was doing such a great job anyway so I blocked it off. With that went out the window the need to keep most of those hoses and solenoids so out they came too. It dosen't look like that much junk until you pull it out!
So now all I need to figure out is:
How to run the pcv system.
How to run the fpr solenoid (since I hear people have hot start issues without it).
How to run the purge valve (again, I hear not to remove it).
How to run the twin scroll actuator.
Prune out the harness plugs once I am sure everything is working.
Tomorrow I'll get some new fuel line to redo that area of it and then just start one system at a time I suppose.
