S4 RX7 fuel injectors? old and out dated?

I’m in the middle of getting ready to do a rebuilt and a port on an 86 S4. And after taking the intake manifold off and looking at the injectors and the plastic "shower drain" pieces that are below them one can obviously see that this is not a good way to "atomize" and mix fuel. A simple one needle injector spraying a strait stream on a flat drain....nice. so has anyone out there went and got some newer 460cc multi nozzle spray injectors? they've got them down to where they can literally spray a mist these days. that has to turn into some useable horsepower somewhere right?

Nope.
Smaller holes means smaller debris can more easily clog them.
Try again.

aren't those thingies (air diffusers) in the injector holes supposed to help with atomization?

and those are standard Denso injectors that are found on a TON of cars from the mid 80s to mid 90s

yeah i just figured you would be able to remove them and just run a better performing better spraying injector.

Anyway, supposedly these newer injectors are more efficient as far as atomization. Hmmm...I wonder if it would be worthwhile to try them in an FC. As I recall, the 4 yellow ones found on the 6 port engine do flow around the same as the NA rx-7 injectors.
6 port engines have small 6 injectors.

the 04-05 4 port engine has 4 larger ones

total injector capacity of all 6 injectors on the rx8 is about the same as the na fc
