Cool S4 engine in a S5 chassis?

Ok, the reason for this is money or lack of, got a kid down the street that had a seized s5 motor, he got a s4 replacement motor for cheap so that's the reason.
It's not that bad when doing a stare and compare of the 2 engines.
Block off the egr top port on the s4 center iron
Block off the air port on the s5 lower intake
S5 Water pump has a 90% elbow and the S4 is straight.
Oil metering system is the reason for this thread.
Is there any reason not to keep the s4 metering system and not swap the S5 front cover to the S4 block? Will the s5 ECU freak if the OMP is "not" there?

I know this is not a optimal swap but this is all he could afford and he wants to get it running again.
Thanks for the input and help.

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt.

Yes, block the EGR.
Yes, block the split air port on the LIM.
Use the S5 water pump.
Change the front cover and use the S5 MOP.

The ECU will freak out if it's not there.

When changing the front cover, be careful of the bearing stack.

Thanks for the help and input.....I was dreading to have to swap out the front cover, didn't want to mess with the CAS and the bearing stack.
Oh well.

hey, stupid idea just ran by me.....
Is there a way to pin the connector and just let it think the OMP is there?
Just trying to save time......

I meant jumper the OMP connector that goes to the ECU and fool it into thinking it was there.

You can't just jumper the S5 OMP harness because apparently it sends varying input - you can fool the ECU into seeing the OMP for several minutes but the stepper motor (integrated into the pump) will not be there and it will give you away.

Basically, THIS is how you do it:

Get an S5 OMP and plug it in but don't attach it to the block. Wire it out of the way somewhere. You can then continue to use the S4 OMP system if you wish.

Done. No front cover swap.

Cool

Just a followup, the S5 omp in a ziplock bag connected to the wiring harnes and wiretied to the charcoal canister works great, looks ghetto but works.
Thanks for the idea!
Ps: If anybody every needs any 2nd Gen engine work done, just call me.....not!
