I got mine figured out. I did the grinding, but it is the dimple beneath the ports in the centerhousing that was probably causing me my vacuum leak. I used some gasketmaker and wam bam thank ya maam. I now have idle.

grinding that spot down on the housing took me about half an hour to get it to where it was useable, also grinding down the front iron so i could fit the S5 waterpoump on was somewhat of a bitch as well, but with a little paitence it was done very easily.

i just hope i can get my engine running on monday when my KOYO rad. comes in, i think i've only been working on my car for about the past month, so i pray nothing else more goes wrong. lol

i didnt grind anything away the front iron


also it doesnt look like the dome shaped thing sticks out, but it goes in. should i build it up with epoxy and grind it flat?

I filled the dimpled area with gasketmaker. worked for me. The proper solution is probably a s5 center iron...

thanx JDuncan. i ended up having to cut one of my actuater rods so ill be doing a junkyard run then ill try filling with gasket maker. did you guys notice any difference in power after you put in the s4 block? im pretty sure thats my leak too but was wondering if gasket maker will hold up.
