S4 audio install write-up?
Sorry if I am double-posting this (I searched for 10 min with no success), but can anyone point me to a write-up on simple head unit and 4-speaker install for an 86 GX? Also will I need more than deck and speakers?

It took less than 30 seconds to find this:

If that doesn't help you... have someone else do the work for you. It ain't rocket science.

Thanks for the help guys. My search ability must suck cause I tried multiple keywords and even a google search with nothing good.
I have installed decks before so I wont be foolish enough to cut wires.

I am the original owner, and unless someone did me a favour, the car is bone stock besides wheels and brakes.

Here's what I've done so far. I thought mine was bone stock too, but I'm still trying to trace down the dead short in the "cabin" circuit somewhere. Anyhow, the prev. owner had put in aftermarket speakers with the factory head unit at some point. So when I bought the new head unit, I bought the $7 or whatever harness for the power wire portion. I then rewired the speakers from the head unit wires to the new speakers. Time consuming task, but well worth it. The hardest ones to rewire were the ones in the door. I ran new wires to these speakers as well. Sounds better, higher quality and newer wire. I can now power all my speakers with an amp too. Anyhow hope this helps.

I was looking around other treads and noticed that running wires under the mazda jam plate to the back was an issue so where should I run those?

Assuming that you are gonna do this yourself,The problem that you are going to encounter is this:You will have to run wire to each speaker,IF you don't use the stock wiring(it's crap anyways).
Passenger side front speaker is enclosed in plastic and has a separate amp. Both rear speakers have an amp located under the speaker in a plastic pod.
Now,if you can access the passenger front speaker, then solder the wires to it,directly.Run the wire back to your deck(or an aftermarket amp).
Front drivers side is a snap.Just unscrew the grill, unscrew speaker, then wire up to whatever you are wiring to.
The Rears:..pop the speaker grills off,and undo the speaker from the pod.Spade connect it to the wiring that you have going to your deck.
You can connect the headunit power to the Harness(old stereo harness) .Ground the Headunit's black wire to the side of the center console dash(there is a 10mm bolt that you can use).
