S-AFC II wiring/setting help
I got the S-AFC II and have no idea how to set it. I was also told to rewire the throttle to th pressure sensor wire. Which wire is that? I wired it how the safc manual told me to. WhenI g into sensor 1, throttle is at abut 47% that doesn't sem right. And what shold I set the throttle points to? They're at the standar 10% 50% right now.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL
CHAPTER SIX, PAGE 44
Also go to SENSOR CHECK. Take a look at the THRT (TPS) voltage. It SHOULD be 1.00 volts. If not, then turn your tps screw til the reading is 1.00 volts.
Then exit SENSOR CHECK and go to Monitor and see what percent your Thr is. It should be 0 percent.
Only set the THRT (tps) when the car is fully warmed up. When the car cools down the percentage will rise (NOT indicative of a car that is fully warmed up and ready to drive).

Set the throttle point.....low at 99percent and the high at 100 percent. Not to worry about this.
On page 50, it addresses ROTARY ENGINES and the number of cylinders to be selected for a ROTARY ENGINE.
Your car is a non turbo.....so go with the tps instead of the boost/pressure sensor. There is NOTHING TO BE GAINED BY GOING AND USING THE PRESSURE SENSOR INSTEAD OF THE TPS for a non turbo car.
Before driving the car, go back to ETC and check those settings i.e. the FLAP....4CYL....ARROW UP TO THE RIGHT........06IN....06OUT (for a series five).
If those basic settings are not right, the car will act....funny, and you won't be laughing. I had the thing go from FLAP to HOT WIRE for some unknown reason. A slip of the finger perhaps??? NO. I don't make mistakes. humor.

in the safc manual, there is an S4 and S5 ECU diagram, just follow them exactly, thats what I did. If you have an S4 i heard there was issues displaying the correct TPS reading.

Sorry, I haven't changed my profie. I DO have a turbo car, I just finished the swap. So, does this mean that I should wire it to the pressure sensor instead of the TPS? And, J-rat, I did read TFM, but, I got confused, so I asked a question. I thought that would be a novel thing to do instead of screwing around with it half blindly. And I don't have an FCD yet because I'm still runnng sock boost until I get the Rtek V1.5

There's still CRAZY mad hesitation after 4K. It's this giant bucking right when the secondaries kick in, it seems. Also, I have the safc tuned WAY down. Up to 30%, and it's still running pig rich. Is that a reason it might be bucking?

It will buck and do odd things unless the settings are CYL 4, arrow up and to the right, IN 06/OUT 06, FLAP. So...are you still having a problem getting the thing to take the CYL 4 and the arrow up and to the right?
For using the pressure sensor ....you tap into the brown/red wire at the pressure sensor.
Did you buy this unit new? I wonder about the manual you have/have not.

Wellllll......if you tap into the pressure sensor.......don't EVER expect to see the MONITOR to show the throttle percentage reading at zero. Ain't never gonna happen. It also does not matter a whit.
When using the pressure sensor you'll have the throttle percentage at zero when the vacuum is in the 15in/hg range. When the boost gauge hits ZERO, the percentage will be approx 53percent showing on the monitor.
So some of us set the LOW to be under 53percent and the HIGH over 53 percent. There's some give and take to that 53 percent figure. It's car dependent/sensor dependent what the safc will show when the boost gauge hits the zero mark.
I think we're miscommunicating. Sensor 1 is the AFM when you go to ETC and do a sensor check. A couple of items down is the thrtl voltge. It's not in percentage but in volts. Could be me I guess. I've got the latest greatest on one car and the next to latest greatest in the other car. I think the Monitor and the ETC read the same though. To lazy/disinterested to look right now.
If you have the thing set up like you stated in your latest post AND you have not added/deleted any fuel...the car should be running just like it did before the safc install.
