S AFC to ECU connector

I was wondering if there is a connector that you could simply plug in between your cable going to the ECU and the actual ECU so you do not need to soder in the cables for the Apexi S - AFC. Also, I have seen many different versions of the S - AFC. Which one would work/be better for my 10th AE rx-7 if I am basically running it stock other than a bit higher boost and full exhaust (no cats)?

well one thing i did when i put in my alpine head unit is i got these "wire taps" and just basicly plugged it in!

i dont know how to explain how they look exactly but when they are new in the package they have a metal piece that contacts with the wires and the top folds over to secure the two wires.

all you have to do is find the wires you have to tap into on the harness and label them for easy reference to which ones your tapping, then where ever you want to tap into the wire just take a bit of the insulation(enough to make contact with the conductor in the clip, no more no less) and put it in the slot with out the "stopper" then put the butt end of the wire you want to "tap in" in the slot with the "stopper"(make sure the wire is striped at the end). then fold the clip in half, take a pair of pliars and squeeze the conductor into the clip(this secures the wire and ensures a good connection). then just snap the clasp over the exposed conductor(this keeps the conductor from grounding out or coming apart).

you can find these pretty cheep at ace hardware. also ive found that its cleaner looking to "stagger" the taps so that you dont have a big lump of connectors to hide. tap 3 er 4 wires then move 2 or 3 inches in eather direction and do another 3 er 4 wires...ect...

and for the safc, there are only 2 types that you need worry about. the original safc and the newer safc-2. as with any "newer" version of an electronic componet, it has a couple more features and usualy looks a lot cooler! im getting an safc-2. you might wanna concider one as well, seeing as how the only cost 400 bones.

well i hope that helps, didnt mean to offend you by putting everyting in simple-er terms, i was just trying to explain how they worked so that you could idenify what i was talking about in the store.

btw. welcome to the club!

No such thing exists, since you're only connecting to a few of the ECU's wires.

Don't use those cheap, nasty wire taps for anything as important as a fuel controller. They are not reliable enough! All connections should be soldered. If you can't do it, find a friend who can or get it professionally installed.
