Rx8 Shift ****

I installed an Rx8 shift **** on my 88 vert, but it has a 6 speed pattern on top. Is there any place that sells glossy stickers to cover it up with either a 5 speed, mazda emblem, or an rx7 emblem like this one?

You can buy a 5 speed version.

I didn't buy it. It came off my dad's rx8. He bought a new one because the one that was on his had a tiny rub spot on it.

The one I put on my car doesn't thread on to s4 shifters. Here's what I did:

Remove the shift lever from the trans. You'll notice that it's actually 2 pieces, 1 mounted in the other by rubber. Pick the rubber out using a long scribe, and weld on a bolt that is the correct thread size on the end of your now tiny shifter. I don't remember exactly what the size was, but if you go to a hardware store with the ****, it's easy to figure out. (I think it was 10mm x 1.25) Re-install.

No, you need the thinner S5/S6/Miata/Rx-8 style shifter to use the RX-8 shift ****

Not another thread about RX8 shift ****... There was a GB on it. Or Simply search the European Ebay for the 5spd one.

Had an ocho **** for a short while, decided to go back to stock s4 ****. Its not my thing.

side note: why do people insist on hacking the shift lever so short its barely sticking out of the boot? i can see on inch off of it but 2 or more? come on now. . .

^^ Because at stock height it looks retarded. Plus, with the top part of the stock shifter removed, it sits at the exact same height the rx8 **** does, and doesn't hinder the shifting at all.

It's just an opinion though, so I won't be throwing the *thumbsdown/you'reafag/fuckyou/wallbash/rofl* back at you.

Anyways, I remember a while ago there was a website that sold all kinds of stuff like what I was asking about. They sold the little 4/5/6-speed plates that you put on the console along with stickers that went on top of the shifter. Anybody remember what site that was?

I feel compelled to add my very first post in this thread for a couple of reasons. One, I have seen the work this guy has done to his car, and it is superb considering the resources he has to work with. Second, it's my old shift **** in his car. Staticguitar313, if you haven't driven the car, you aren't qualified to comment about the shifter length. The shifter is a VAST improvement over the stock setup. It works as well as my RX8 shifter. <edited for flaming>
