uhmm... kristopher_d, thats not being rational, it's called being ****....
...the product is flawed AND WILL NEVER WORK ON AN RX-7 (for its designed purpose...)
(might work as a heater blower... but then only maybe...)

Here is a crazy idea..................
I have thought of many mods to do to a turbo car, one of which is drilling a tiny hole at and angle in the exhaust side (or compressor side maybe) of a turbo and then at the right time sending highly pressurized air into it, the result is like a can of duster air blowing on a pinwheel, it would spin real fast....possibly faster than the exhaust is already pushing it, therefore eliminating or reducing turbo lag and giving you real quick spooling. I call it my "Pre-spooler" idea, wadda ya think??????
1) If you hate it don`t flame, just explain why you hate it.
2) if you like it.....DON`T STEAL IT, I have not patented it yet.
3) If some other dick already invented it, DON`T SPOIL THIS FOR ME, I actually think that I thought of a new idea.
John (yes I am new) flame away

1.) i dont think it would work. A car puts out alot of exhaust. How would you enject this pressurized air? It would have to have a greater pressure that that of the air in the turbo. How would you keep that kinda pressured air.

since gases expand at warm temps, warming you exhaust before it reaches the turbo would cause a higher free stream velocity. since the waste gate bolts onto the manifold, theres no room for this. That why they use one large and small turbo in twin turbos. THe smaller turbo has almost no lag and stays in effect until the larger turbo with larger boost take effect.

Yes, I am an ***. I am very arogant. I like things perfect. I don't neccesarily expect perfection from others, but it would be nice. I merely meant to point out that we do not know what advancements in electrical efficiency, and electric motors, lie ahead. Right now, a real turbo is far more efficient than any electric fan. You'll notice that I agree with the "throw it out the window of a twenty story building and land it on a ricer" attitude. I simply dislike the attitude that something can't work because it hasn't worked. And again, yes I'm an ***.

They e-mailed back..........
.......and said the thing can actually ADD 150 CFM to whatever your engine is running at, I am not saying I believe it, but that`s what they said.

and about the prespooler thing.............
.......the plan I had was to have a pressurized air tank that would only be used under certain conditions, in the "not used state" a little compressor would refill it with pressurized air, this would be like a little red light advantage more that a constant flow of air.

what if they made a electric turbo from a REAL turbo using the actouall housing and blades but just have a very fast and high powered electric motor that would spin it around the same speed as a turbo would spin if they even make electric motors that can spin near as fast as that. Maby if one is not powerful enough have a few in series or if you dont want it ghetto rigged design it so all like 5 high powered motors are in the same housing with like 5 seperate blades sucking in air and spitting it out at the same speed or maby even faster than a real turbo.. I am shure it can be done, just need the right mind to do it!!

There are electric motors that spin at 100k rpm plus, but most aren't rated for constant load. Obviously, with gearing, you could go faster, but this isn't even the problem. The real problem is the efficiancy of electric motors. To move the kind of air neccessary to make 8psi of boost on a 1.3L rotary, you have to draw a lot of current. The higher voltages we'll start seeing on new cars in '04 (auto manufacturers have agreed to go to a 42V system starting in '04) may increase the feasability of an electric intake booster, but there are still problems. As for wiring up several motors together, that would have to be done in parellel, as anything under 12V makes the project completely impossible with the currently available motors. I'm not sure where break-even is on the boost:amperage ratio, but but all the units I've seen have barely exceeded this point, if at all.

It looks like a leaf blower to me. And its not a turbo, its a FAN, and would not work at best, and be an intake restriction at worst. But they sell this junk to rubes all the time, maybe I should get into the 'electric turbo' business, seem like there's money to be made!!

Saying it is so doesn't make it so. That is a common misconception of the Irrationals. The truth exists independent of your speach. That being said, this unit doubtfully posses the neccessary efficiancy to make it viable.
If you haven't figured it out, I plan on responding to every Irrational who posts with flawed reasons for a correct evaluation.

Maybe someone should act as a buisness (or someone with a buisness) should try and act all interested in carrying their line of "quality products" and asking for a "free sample" or a "display sample". If it goes through test it out, see if their claims are true, if so, great, if not.. sue them. Heh Heh.. .that would be funny as ****.
