I drive my TII in the snow right now, and compared to the minivan I had a few years ago, it's a pain in the ***. Yes, it takes a lot more skill, which means it is a lot more difficult. I think a lot of you are trying to sound macho, instead of looking at the bigger picture...

my camry was like that. i could plow through everything and not worry about the rearend. aka the guy still doing 70+ on the highway like crionic when i had new tires. but hey, it didn't really turn either, lol. with the 7 i blip the throttle if it starts plowing and it will rotate nicely. fwd is great if you have no skill and need a band aid or really enjoy using the handbrake, which i admit to since i love rally and really got the hang of this racing at land between the lakes. also thought i'd point out that abs is worse in snow and gravel. when the tire locks it shoves up a wall which in turn slows the car faster then the rolling wheel, minus the inability to turn. but that is why you are controlling the lockup. on ice, none of it matters.

Regardless of whether you're driving an SUV or an RX-7, anyone who drives full freeway speeds in a couple inches of snow is a tool. There's probably less of a chance you'll lose control with an SUV or front wheel drive car, but it doesn't make you invincible. It's this misconception that kills hundreds every year. And I don't care how good of a driver some people think they are... you hit black ice changing lanes at 120km/h and you're f@cked. I'd rather drive 70 or 80km/h and look like a ***** than kill myself and perhaps someone else.
Just my opinion on the matter.
