rpm ?
im pretty sure i have a t2 tranny in my 88 vert my question is this in 4th gear my rpm wont go passed 5200 but through the other gears it will any suggestion why this is

I highly doubt you have a turbo tranny... there is so much different. you'd need to swap the whole drivetrain including clutch, starter, rear end, and driveshaft.
no idea why you can't go past that... never seen that before.

can you got past it in 5th.... your engine just might be weak and not making enough power to drive that fast.... other than that i cant think of anyhting
i also really doubt you have a t2 tranny, its really complicated to put in (you have to change the drive shaft and rear end as well)

1st to 3rd i can past 5200 didnt try 5th it pulss pretty good other than that the reason why i said i think i have a t2 tranny is i had to buy a starter i went to 2 differ stores to get a starter they were both wrong there should be the same jusy differ st/my right and then of course the turbo thats what i had to get and it fit

I'm not sure what the problem is, but a TII transmission wouldn't make any difference as it has the same 1.0 4th gear ratio as the non-turbo transmission.
The easy way to check for a TII vs. non-turbo transmission is to look under the car. A TII transmission will have a plate bolted to the bottom of the rectangular section, with a drain plug in the corner of the plate. A non-turbo transmission has no removable plate, and the drain plug is mounted on centerline fairly close to the center.
