Why does everyone seem to like the electric fan idea? I have yet to find anything that flows better than the stock fan. The only reasons I can find for converting to an electric fan are:
1) The fan clutch died, and you don't want to spend $200 on a new one.
2) There simply isn't enough room in the engine bay for the stock fan after all your upgrades.

DON't take off your AC that is ridiculous, i dont know why anyone does it in a hot climate, canada i can see but why sacrifice your comfort to have a fast car, the goal is fun, right???i just dont see sweating my ***** off for a half a HP as fun.....
Amen brother! My 1Gen doesn't have any AC, and it is NOT a fun experience driving it in slow traffic on a hot Florida day. Fortunately, it's primarily a race car, so its street time is limited. You better believe that my 2Gen is going to have AC!

Update! I emptied my cat, i figured it'd be the same as removing it (probably wrong) but i was hoping to squeeze some hp out of there.
That's fine. It will act like an expansion pipe. It would be better to have a proper exhaust, but gutting the cat doesn't cost anything and will sure work a lot better than an old nasty clogged cat.

I ordered a K & N cone air filter for 79.99, with the adapter and everything (went all the way to dynamic turbo) does anybody think thats a little overpriced?
Yes, you will usually pay more for "kits". You could have simply ordered a generic K&N filter for about $20-30, an HKS adapter for $20 at the RX-7 Store, and a $2 hose clamp. A separate filter for the air pump (assuming you retain the air pump) is about $8 more. I wouldn't worry about it, though, as buying that kit saved you a lot of trouble and you can just bolt everything on your car in less than an hour.

Octane doesn't really matter on a N/A rotary. If you have a supercharger, turbocharger, or Nitrous Oxide, then you should use the highest octane available.
The S4 RX-7 is rated for a minimum 87 PON (Pump Octane Number = R+M / 2). Older engines tend to have hot spots or other problems which can cause knocking. If your engine knocks with 87, then go to 89 or try a different brand of 87. Simple enough.

Ah......so it wasn't such a bad idea with the cat, thanks. About the filter, im canceling it because i just discovered ebaymotors.com, and found an air intale (not k & n) with adaptyer kit and everything for 14.99, oddly cheap but im guessing its ok. my tires are the stock gxl size which i think is 215 60 16, now 215 is the height? 60 is the width? and Im pretty sure 16 are the rims, but verify me on that, about the 6th port checking, i didn't find the how-to and pneapple racing, but i did find the sleeves and will be getting those soon, but im not sure how to test to see if my 6th por is working. I read in one of the posts that they might freeze up over time. Also, any idea where to get good ground effects, i was thinking bomex, but the front bumper says it'll leave gaps. Back to performance, what is the max safe hp that ican increase just by nos without having to mod the stock fuel system, and what shot would it be.

That may not be such a good idea, as I have seen a lot of BS on Ebay. I would stick with a K&N brand filter. Note that besides flowing well, the K&N filter is good for 10 years or 1,000,000 miles.

Here's the adapter for cone-type filters for the 86-88 RX-7 (89-92 cars don't need an adapter):

Well, after a hard day's work of creating a custom straightpipe in the end, i'd like to say im pretty pleased. I felt quicker acceleration, and the sound is a low-baritone just like i was expecting. I removed the stock mufflers and placed a 2.5 inch straight pipe, (had to weld the old adapters from the mufflers to the y-pipe on) I took your advice on the filter, im still ordering the k & n, also im thinking of porting my engine, but im not really clear on how to do that, I mean the step by step that i read talks about the parts, but it doesn't say which part is which, so far though, its coming out good, i caught a v6 mustang and whooped him by like half a car, and an integra by like 2 cars (After exhaust). Im still waiting for feedback from the e,mail I sent about the body kit for 500, im dying to see pics. -Tito
