i put an engine in a covertible that continues to have idfle problems, like a vacuum leak, but i searched for two days, tore the intakes off, and now im ready to regasket the whole thing.
Anyways, my parents are in St Louis, the ticket is paid for, so im offering to do other things too.
(otherwise ill sit and watch tv, go to movies, and otherwise be bored for 3 days.)
As fdar as being a pro at a dealership?
I have thought about it severa times, i am going to open my own shop one day soon, but im an infrastructure engineer by trade.
Laid off in January.
Im expert at that too. (14 years)
Its FAR mare interesting, it unfortunately keeps me inside far too much.
I am enjoying doing this to make the mortgage payments, but I really want to keep this an (intense) hobby.
Anyway, i run circles around the dealership techs.
Its sad really.
it should never be that way.
Oh well, i god through more 2nd gens than anyone else i know, buy , fix, sell, car finding for freinds, and always get great deals.
Its nice... and as just a hobby, it rocks!
Never without a car...
And always a good looking/ fast one at that.

Is this somebody's car that is on the forum? I was just wondering if I knew who it was.
I have a 91 vert and have been through troubleshooting and resolving weird idle problems before just in case you need a second opinion. Those TPS's are a bitch to adjust perfectly along with it maybe being an issue with the ACV, BAC, or one of the selenoids.
Do you already know for sure that it is a vacuum leak? Is the ECU throwing any codes?
Let me know if you might need any help. I have nothing exciting planned for Saturday.

Well, there are no codes.
This is the first of 5 engine swaps that has done this.
All on different cars. -grin-
Each idles rock solid after im done tuning.
'cept this bit**!....
I have checked EVERYTHING
except the neutral switch and possible a crack in a manifold.
It gets worse with heat.
A/C / Lights / PS/ Brakes in any combo either almost kills or DOES kill the engine.
the BAC valve stays at %50 duty according to my scope no matter whats on.
thats why i suspect the neutral switch.
This owner is not on the forum.
she (my mother) is a "user" of these cars, not an "administrator".
Hence, no forum membership.
