Enkei Speed, you can't get them any more though. See my post under My New Wheels for more pics.

i thought about a darker colored rim like the gunmetal, but i havent really been impressed with any. maybe if they had a nice alluminmum outter lip, thatd be cool, but im not sure im too keen on an all black wheel

i thought about 18", but i really think it'll effect the ride. it took a lot of convincing just to go to 17" i drive over 100 miles a day, and they are very hard driven miles. especially on turns. sometimes the 16" ones on my car even take a bite out of the fender. right now im fixing the accident i had and while replacing the fender i bent the lip in so hopefully the 17" wont be a prob either.

id really like a rim to show the brakes, weigh as light as possible and look a little unique. something with a really deep lip would look awsome but i cant find anything like that. something like the rims on this would look cool.

Try these.. http://www.geocities.com/skyypilot69/Dsc00020.jpg

I would go with the second ones (the Enkei mesh ones). If you can afford it, def go with Volk or Superleggeras, they're in a completely different league than the other rims you're looking at.

Go with the Konig Theory's or those 5 star Antera's you showed. im telling you 18" looks and performs the best!!!!! anything less is just being a *****. if 18" rims perform bad then why do all the major japanese tuners run 18" or bigger wheels on their Skyline's and Supra's and RX7's. my point exactly.

but arent all these cars being produced with 18's designed for 18's? #1 prob i am having right now is tire scrapage and thats with my 16's on hard angular turns. i fear i'd never be able to go anything but straight with 18's. but those anteras do look sick. wish i had some $ left over from my HAYES ROTARY fuckup. right now im getting their engine rebuilt by KDR. its costing like 3K with the trans also being rebuilt. i just wanted to get some cool rims before the summer. it'll take me a while to save fore those anteras. i just cant stomach another person telling me to loose the rime on the car now, which is why im looking for something in the meantime.

do i have to take out that plastic tire/water tirewell thing to get 18's in there? what about low end accelaration? that suffers with the bigger rims...although id be getting some more top end

It's all in the offset of the rim ..... I have had 18's on my vert for almost 4 years now and I never had a problem and my convertible is even lowered about an inch.

some say 18s are too "bling bling" but isn't a convertible "bling bling" anyway?

My point:

If performance is your only goal ....you don't buy a convertible to begin with.

If you want 18s ..... buy them ... it's a vert

The current wheels have to go, so does the outfit you are wearing in those pictures on your website.

Out of your four choices, I would og with #2 or #3. The first ones look too much like FD rims, I think they are too rounded for our boxey cars.

My favorite from this thread are those Konig Theory's, they look sweet as hell on that car.

My personal favorites are the Volk TE-37's, they are just a bit pricey though....

Just a thought but why would you spend $2500 plus on a killer front end kit and put $100 knock off wheels on it?

true, i should put the nicer rims on the car. i get a lot of mixed thoughts. the Konig Theory's have the big lip, yet the 5 stars show the breaks.

can you honestly tell by looking without reading the tire that the set up is either 17 or 18" though? the konig's are in my price range...

can anyone photo the konig theroys onto my car? the car you get to play with on the direct tire imager doesnt do any of these rims justice. i just want to see what it'd look like with something with a lip.

one last thing, the bigger the rim, the smaller the tire and the harsher the ride. i also run food deliveries in my car, and side streets and driveways can be a bitch. i defenitly dont want the car to constantly be gettin harshly bounced around cause the tires have lost all their reflex from the loss of the side wall.

Hello, I was just wondering where you got that front bumper from, i really like it and was wondering if you bought it seperately or it came with a kit?

Some type of 5 spoke wheel would look nice.

both front re amemiya kits came from rx7.com. i bought 2 because the first one, some stupid bitch backed into me and fucked the driver corner of it up. it shattered the lens cover, so im as we speak preping the second one for painting. her insu co flipped when they found out that the thing costs 1900$. not bad though, i got a new one and sold the broken one for 500$. it can be fixed up enough and plexiglass and heat gun mold a new light cover.

also rx7 secret has that front for like 1600$. everything is origonal re amemiya and comes in a box giving you everything you need, lights harness EVERYTHING. its well worth the $. especially when you see how many looks you get. and when you walk out of a store and your car is the first thing you see, you cant help but stop and smile
