rev limiter/fuel cut in s4 na ?
is there a fuel cut/rev limiter in an s4 na ? ive had people telling me there is a re limter/fuel cut at about 7500 rpm or so depending on how far off the tach is, but ive had others telling me there is no rev limiter/fuel cut at all and they goto 7900rpms without hitting any fuel cut or rev limiter...
is there a rev limit /fuel cut ? if there is what is it ? if there isnt then why are people telling me there is ?
i would assume reving in the redline is bad for the engine anyways but just wondering if there was a rev limiter, im getting my engine streetported and other stuff so iwanna know how high i can rev

I believe the ECU has a fuel cut at 8000 RPM. What the tach reads at this speed may vary dramatically, but I've bounced my engine off the rev limiter before.
As for disabling it, you'll want to go with a standalone (or S5 ECU, fuel cut at 9k RPM) to go higher - according to some research done by people who have poked with the S4 ECU on a test bench, the hardware isn't capable of dealing with much over 7000 RPM - the ignition falls apart somewhere past there due to hardware limits of the ECU.
