restrictor plate

I think I finally understand what the full racing beat exhaust will do to my car in its present state.. the resulting high boost will cause many problems. So I've been looking around this forum at ways to lower it and the restrictor plate in the exhaust sounds like an interesting idea.

I'd just like to know where this plate goes exactly in the full RB exhaust and do I make it or get one somewhere? How big should it be? I think I heard something about 2" in a 3" exhaust..?

Thanks again for all the help.

the other option is put a cat in... I just put one in yesterday and it's back down to 8psi from 10. it would probably go lower with out the boostcontroler. but I think it's set at 8 now.

that way you are legal too

someone else suggested that, but where am I supposed to put one on this particular exhaust? All it is is a dp+mp?(one piece) a small y-pipe and mufflers, doesn't appear like there's anywhere to slip it in.. although I believe I read that you have this exhaust too, so how did you do it, or is mine different..

Also, that'll just cost more money, all I want is that restrictor plate temporarily to lower the boost until I can get the proper fuel mods. So does anyone have any insight on the plate?

dp+mp in one package eh? That sucks =( I saw this movie once where this black dude stuck a banana in these two white dude's sedan, and it seemed to restrict the exhaust pretty good! The easiest thing to do would be to go to a metal shop and have them make you one cheap! I don't see why you couldn't just slip it right in between the flanges for your dp+mp combo and your exhaust. But then again, I've never tried it...

Steve

P.S. I meant the plate, not a cat! =P

there is a presilencer part in the middle that is seperate. if it's just for temp. you just need to get a think peice of steel, 1/4 or 1/2" cut the outside to match the RB flange. then drill a 2.5" hole in the middle. and bolt it between the downpipe and presilencer.

2" restrictor plate anywhere in the exhaust system will reduce the boost down to 10psi even - we have tested this already.
