I've heard people are getting more like 280 out of the Renesis with headers, intake, and tuning. What is the best RX8 forum out there?

You know, I bet this won't work but I was thinking about this the other day.

What if you could put renesis rear housing on a fcs5 clock.

First would it fit? And if it did could you swap for a 6 speed tranny?

Huh? They are only getting 180 stock, so 100hp with exhaust, intake and tuning? That would be one helluva engine if it were true, lol.

And www.rx8forum.com is the place.

If you take all the work, and parts into account, it'll be much cheaper to swap a 20b engine into a second gen then a renesis.

What do you mean they are only getting 180? Isn't the renesis the motor in the RX8? I'm talking crank HP, not rear wheel. BTW, the US version with the 6 port (comes with the manual) is advertised at 235 HP FW, I think. The US version is de-tuned. UK and Japan version gets 250 FW HP, so it wouldn't be such a stretch to bump that up 30 HP or so with headers, timing advance, and a free-flowing intake and exhaust.

Well its supposed to have like 250 in the US, but they just aren't putting out the numbers they claimed. Thats why they have the buy back program or whatever.

Renesis in an FC... Can we move this into "pipe dreams" along with Carbon Fiber parts and the amazing Tesla Turbocharger?

Depending on what I decide to do with my car, I would consider using Renesis rotors in my N/A, possibly with a BP or Huge street port on the Aux port.
If one were to swap motors in an FC it would have to be the 20B, hell a 20B would make a lightend FC haul ***.

sounds like a waste of money to me, a S5 turbo 13b has more ft/bls of toqure than the renasis has by far, and the 13bt S5 would swap with less worries.

What about emissions though? Need to keep it smog legal. Seems the renesis would be an awsome alternative to the bridgeport or the PP. Is it possible to move the exhaust ports to the side on a 13b, perhaps by swapping housings with the renesis?

Who has used renesis motors for sale? Anyone crash their RX8 yet?

I think you could swap with the older housing, the big difference is that the coolant orings is in the Rotor housing on the renesis.
