removing tint from rear hatch glass
the guy before me had a shop professionally tint the rear glass of my tii with an ugly dark purple tint. they did the door glass too but i was able to remove that with razors and a lot of goo gone last summer. i'd like to attack the hatch this spring but i'm not sure what would be the best way of removing the stuff because if it's anything like the doors, it wont come off simply by pulling up from one edge.
any ideas? i dont really wanna shell out the money to have someone else do it for me if i can do it myself. i really hate the tint though, it makes it hard to back up at night and it blurs my vision as well.

Did you use the trash bag and amonia method for the doors? There shouldn't be alot of glue left if you do it that way. You should be okay with a blade if you take your time and keep it nice and wet.

for back glasses with heaters...Use a brillo pad(or something like it) and scrub LIGHTLY, very lightly..and be sure if you ever get your car tinted, that you get a lifetime warranty against peeling, bubbling, and turning purple...it doesnt come purple, it turns that after it sits in the sun for so long

Use oven cleaner and razors up to the perimeter of the Heat Lines. From there, scrap off the access with a scotch brite and lotsa of oven cleaner. It's a solid half hour job that reaps the benifits of ghey purple removed and no loss/cuts to the Heat Lines.

Warm day (>80 degF).
Black plastic trash bag - cut to fit.
Spray inside with household ammonia.
Apply black plastic to trap ammonia.
Park in in the sunshine for 20-30 minutes - it peels right off.
Clean up with ammonia window cleaner (or goo-gone).

i think it might be a factory option? cause mine had the purple tint on the back window too. i just used a razor blade, some oops, and glass cleaner. be very careful going over the defroster lines, and hold the razor at an angle with the glass. took me like 5-6 hours to get all mine off. the glue was the major pain in the ***.
