Talking Removing seats & center console

I'm going to be driving this babe pretty soon so I want to clean out all of the car & get the audio system fully installed.

Anyways, anyone got a basic overview for me to remove the seats & center parts like where the coins go and such, theres cigarette ash's and stuff inbetween those tightareas and I want to clean the plastic parts then pullup the carpet to install new speaker wires.

Thanks I'm pretty sure I could figure it out on my own but just a quick overview and anytips will help, I don't want to break anything on the car (never have so far XD)

Its also darkoutside onceI get the seats out I should be good off!

There is four bolts per seat, two in the front two in the rear. They should be pretty easy to feel and are at different locations on each seat. And one or two of them as a carpet ''patch'' over it , just lift it it's only velcroed down. I hope you have a good set of ez-outs 'cause you're gonna need them lol.

/me googles ez-outs

SO what are they exactly I'm not getting it.....the bolts or w/e going to be super stuck down or something?

Also by any chance anyone know the size of them bolts?

Thanks RB_eater, knowing 4 per seat will help alot I wouldof hated their to be 1 or two hidden lol yanking on the seat or something and breaking some bracket or something wacky.

Ez-outs are the things you drill into the bolt to remove it. You get the picture. From my experience the front bolts tend to be rusted, BAD. Thats why you need the easy out. I prefer the extractors that you can use the impact with but they only seem to work 50% of the time.

"Center console"= armrest?
If so...pry out the switch panel (where the power mirror switch is located) and you'll see two screws> remove them.
In the back/bottom of the storage bin are two more screws.

Removing the passenger area carpet ...
Remove the door sill trim, kickpanels and dash.
It might be possible to leave the dash in (I've never tried) for removal of the carpet, but replacing it neatly is certainly easier with the dash out.

You'll be surprised at how large the cabin carpet is when you have it laying outside of the car, at least I was.

Yep, I am almost certain you have to remove the dash to get the front carpet out, at least eI couldn't find a way to do it otherwise.
Also, forget ez-outs. You spray the bolts liberally with PB Blaster and let that soak for a little while then take the bolts out with a standard socket wrench. If it still wont come out, use more PB Blaster and wait longer.

the dash isnt that bad to remove, ive done it many times. there are the 2 bolts that hold the steering column, 2 on each side by the doors, 2 (i think) on the middle sction of the dash towards the bottom, 2 at the very end of the dash in the center by the arm rest. i believe thats it.

Alright i'll give it a shot its not too hard to put backtougether right?

What i don't want is to be fussing with it to get it back on then have something bend, break, scratch where its noticeable, etc the cars REALLY clean, if I got the things that hold down the rear carpet, new defrost vents & such it would almost be complete and look 4 years old or so. My dad took off the passenger & drivers door panels when he used to drive it to fix stuff and the passenger door panel doesnt screw on right anymore

If its bright enough, so far taking pics of the inside of the car with my phone doesn't work good at all

You'll need to remove the Logicon ("air controller"), radio, steering wheel, switch bezel, gauge cluster and idiot light assembly.
Also the defroster bezel (at the front of the dash right under the glass).

Have fun with the Logicon- whoever designed that part of the wiring harness should be shot.

Oh god damnit

Only way I'm surviving doing this is with the radio on lol.

heh its not worth it to me to pullup all the carpet just to easially bring speakerwires to the back I'll use another guys suggestion (in my other topic? idk) to use the wire channel by the drivers side.

You just want to get some wires to the back? Just run them from the radio area down to the bottom of the radio surround. Then pull them through the shifter area, then pull off your whole armrest peice. You can just make a slit in the carpet where nobody will see and pull the wires back towards the bins. Then there should be a hole in the bin frame you can use, or just make one. Run them inside the bin frame to the side, then behind the carpet all the way to the back.

If you need pics I can get some tommorrow, my fuel pump wire is ran that way. (for my fuel cut switch)

But...

As much as I dreaded the job, it turned out to be quite worthwhile.
Not only was I able to clean up some wiring issues (and just clean the heater/AC ducting in general) but upon removal of the carpet I found several dollars in change and a million sunflower seeds.

How all that crap got under the carpet I can't imagine.

It also allowed me to confirm that the floorpans were as rustfree as I thought they looked from the underside.

I got all you mentioned removed good idea actucally. the wires for the amp are thick though... RCA cables I'll run them to the left & down the drives side along with the power cables and I'll run the amp on/off wire down the center like you suggested.
