Reliability mods
OK I tried searching but the 2nd gen section seems very limited when it comes to common reliabilty mods when you compare it to the 3rd gen section.
The car is an 87' gxl with a 89 streetported 6port block turbocharged with tii manifolds, less than 20k on the rebuild.
So far I have:
standalone ems
boost gauge
oil pressure gauge
water temp gauge
wideband O2 sensor
walbro fuel pump
steel braided fuel lines (entire system)
cleaned injectors
steel braided oil lines (oil cooler and turbo feed)
no cat
heatwrapped dp and turbo
silicone vac lines (ziptied)
T-bolt clamps on all ic couplers
new synthetic fluids for everything
omp disabled/ premix
new filters and thermostat
Al coolant neck
coming soon:
silicone coolant hoses
comp AL radiator
efan
Is there anything that Im missing so far?. Im trying my best to spend my money on making this one stay running more than often than parked. Thanks in advance for anything I havent thought of.

The 13B/13BT engines are much simpler then the 13B-REW. A look at the vacuum hose diagrams will explain that. The common problems are mostly due to aging, rather then design flaws.
Silicone vacuum hoses - rubber hardens and cracks
accurate gauges - stock gauges suck
Oil cooler lines - rubber hardens and cracks
Change all fluids - general maintenance
Replace T-stat with OEM
Radiator (OEM replacement or Koyo/Fluidyne/Corksport) - Plastic end tanks can crack with age
