how are these cars as daily drivers. I drive about 20 miles a day and just want to know how reliable an rx7 would be (given proper maintnence) under regular driving conditions on a daily basis?

Very reliable, but consider that everything has a service lifespan. The only reason I don't drive mine all year round is rust (winter/salt) and don't want the km's to rack up.
Just (like you said) maintenance, and keep your eye on problems when they begin to creep up. Sounds and smells, vibrations or other. Long drives are actually better on the car than short stop and go trips where the car doesn't warm up fully.

thanks guys, i hear mixed things about driving them all the time. im just guna be driving daily untill i have enough cash for a small pickup. thinking about putting the rex on classic insurance. NJ is def not the place to own multiple cars, the gov seems to thinks its necesary to charge out the *** for just about everything.
ps. anyone here of place called RX7 farms in vineland NJ? suposedly they have a huge yard filled with 7's and parts, i tried doing a local search but nothing turned up.

It's not a bad idea to have a rotary mechanic come with you to check it out. Jim at JPR Imports in Blackwood is a great guy and does excellent work for cheap. Give him a call and see if he'd be able to assist you with looking over the car.

mine is pretty modded and ive been dding it for about 6 months now and i love it. With any 20 year old car you need to fix the problems you know of before dding but after that its proper maintenance and keeping stuff fixed

No, being near Philly the only shops I know of are KDR which is about and hour or so north of me, and Jim who is about 40 minutes away. I just saw you were in Jersey and figured I'd suggest it. Just make sure anywhere you go is a reputable rotary shop. Check the regional forums and you can find some good/bad mechanics.
