regrounding question

when grounding from the negative terminal to the orginal ground on the block. do you set the new ground line on top of the old one or do you take out the orginal ground wire from the motor harness and only set the new ground wire on?

You can do either. One way or the other though you should definately clean the contacts and use dielectric grease on the connections.
