BC Redlines daily newb question.

Question about sealing the intakes.
I pulled both upper and lower intakes off so I could clean my injectors and the intakes themselves.
As for putting them back togather, should I seal the intakes with silicone or gasket goop?
Or just get new gaskets every time I pull them?
I'm pretty sure its leaking air.

I would hate to have it suck up chunks of silicon, I do have a keen attention to detail though and I wouldnt do a sloppy job.
Il price out some gaskets too though

I would go with OEM gaskets. Do everything you want to do to the manifolds before putting them back on. Follow the correct torquing pattern and specs when tightening down and never worry about having to take it apart again.

I can't even begin to go into how many vacuum leak threads are started by those that use RTV rather than buying gaskets.

That is just my advice though. Most FC owners will try to cheap out on every corner so they will have a few more bucks to throw at coilovers or something.

mazda says to use gasket sealer on the lower intake to housing gasket. as even with a new gasket it can leak after a few thousand. they have a service bulliten on it. i read it after i put my motor together but have not had any issues. just make sure to seal your block off plates as i had leaks there.
