red line

I read that the redline for the 1989-1992? FC's is 8K...mine is a 1991 and mine says 7K, can the motor go to 8K but just has the redline of 7k?

actually, closer would be:

Manual tranmission non turbo S5 (89-91) models: 8k redline
Auto tranny and Turbo models: 7K redline

mine is a auto so if i went past the red line to 8k would it be fine?

What would happen?

Also if I put it in 1st on the auto or L w/e letter it is what will happen ifyou try to go higher then 7k would it force it to shift or would it cut off gas?

Why do you need to rev so high? You're not making any power that high. Just shift at redline. If redline is 7 let the tranny shift at 7. No use going to 8, it will only do more harm than good.
