Looking to purchase some new lowering springs for my 88 n/a. What type of springs have people used and recommend. Also if you have any for sale, I am interested.

Note racingbeat quotes 145F/132R for their springs. Someone was saying that Mazdatrix did their own test. (in fact I just noticed, it says that right on the page) I don't know what to think.

Another interesting option is Tokico springs. No one seems to use them and they're not as readily available. I called Tokico and they're 145F/135R. I've seen them selling for substantially less than other brands.

I have racing beat springs with KYB adjustables and they were a great improvement over my stock setup.

I bought some Eibachs that are said to lower the car approx one inch or there abouts. But like they say in the article, usually the stock ones are so worn that the Eibachs won't really lower the car any further. But at least you will have fresh springs that are of the same rate and not worn out. I think I got them from Mazdatrix with Tokico's. Could have been Rotary Performance in Dallas. I'm pleased with the Eibachs.

Well, really they don't. They are cheap though, and work just great, contrary to what most people might tell you.

Hey, 13bpower, do you by chance know the spring rates of the Intrax? I am trying to decide betweem those and some gc coilovers. I'll prolly end up with the Intrax.

The rates... I have no Idea. I do know they drop the car 1.6 inches below spec. This will only be about a 1 inch drop though, as the stock springs most likly sag about a half an inch already.

i have the ebach spirngs they lowered my car only maybe a. 5 inch btu the ride is very good

this springs are mated with KYB AGX shocks

thanks alot guys, this is very helpful. I really like to hear what people think of their springs. I am currently looking at some Racing Beat, Ebach or Intrax. I know that the Racing Beat springs are more performace minded along with the Ebach however they are more expensive. I know if was asked but if anyone does know more on the Intrax springs that would be awsome. Also, info on any other springs is very much welcomed.

Suspension Techniques. I have these on AGX's. I think they're pretty nice. And they cost about the same as the intrax. 1 inch drop.

I've got a set of kyb agx struts still in the box (my car was stolen the day I ordered them) and a set of Suspension techniques springs that have been on the car for 2 months or so. The springs made a big difference and I was sure the shocks / struts would be even better. If you're interested, I'll sell all of them for $450.

the car is totalled now. That's why I'm selling them.

I had eibach springs with tokico shocks on my n/a. the handling was undescribable, but it was bumpy as all hell on any roads that weren't perfect.

yearrgh........Dittos to what you said. Just great on a fairly smooth road, but down here in the ghettos the roads ain't so good, and its just a touch too rough on my backside.

Just remember if you lower the car, even with the Eibachs, you'l have to put out some dough for a rear camber adjuster or be buying new tires once a year. The Mazdatirx camber adjusters for the rear are good. I bought the single adjuster, but since then they have come out with a dual adjuster for more precise adjustment. Same here and I love the way the car handles!! Why did I choose the ST instead of the Racing Beat? Price!! RB springs come out @ $240!!, but I do think that RB has more experienced with the FC than any ohter spring manufacturer\vendor.

Why not Eibach? I really don't think the progressive springs is the way to go. *I've heard* that sudden movements\changes and the car will feel unstable.

Intrax - I really don't want a 1.5 inch drop, nor I see any benefit to it.

Tokico - They seem to be similar (in rates) to the ST but with a higher price.

What springs are good for someone that dont want to lower their car? It doesnt look like I have much room to lower at all on my ride, but Im fixing to buy some shock/struts and wouldnt mind replacing my stock springs with new ones.

Unless you have bigger wheel/tires on your car then your stock springs are probably just sagging really bad. Mine were like that, and my ST's didn't create a big drop, as would any of the ones around 1".
