Question rebuilt engine

How long do you have to wait before you can redline a rebuilt engine? Some people say after 1000 miles it's good, but others say not to go over 4500 until you have at least 2000 to 2500 miles on it. Which one is it?

Depends on how many new parts were used in the rebuild, specifically housings and bearings

I no I have used housings, but dont know about the bearings. I have 700 miles now, do you think it would be alright if I pushed it a couple of times after 1000 miles. I'm getting tired of this 4500 rpm limit crap, but I don't want to blow my motor.

you've waited this long (700 miles)...waiting until 1500 miles isn't going to kill you...after all, it's always better to be safe then sorry...especially on a newly rebuilt motor

I agree with biorotary, If mine would start, I'd wait.
