rebuild/swap question
ok i almost have enough money to either rebuild and port my engine or swap to a 13BT. i have an 87 base rx-7. if i were to go the 13BT route what all would i have to do to my car to make it work? will it fit right in? i am thinking i will most likely need a Turbo II tranny right? i pretty much dont know much about the swap or whatever soo any info would be greatly apprciated. and i also want imput on what i should do. thanks in advance.

OK, I'm not an expert on this kinda thing but, from my understanding, the TII is a completely different car. You would need to get teh TII:
4-port TII engine (duh, but get 89-91 if possible for 200hp )
TII tranny (to handle more pwr)
TII driveshaft (tranny is longer i think)
TII rear differential (limited slip)
TII intake manifold (i duno if the airbox is the same)
a turbo
TII exhaust system (or aftermarket)
TII computer
Intercooler
possibly different radiator?
New guages (boost)
TII hood (scoop for intercooler)
TII decals
TII rims (they were 16" inch)
there may be more, buts thats all I can think of right now...
ANYONE correct me if I'm wrong though
Everything should fit right in.
I think you should either port your engine or sell the car and just buy a TII. Swapping all of the above wil be a chanllenge, and for the $$$ you might as well just get a TII and mod the hell outta it .. say, 275+ hp hehheh....
hope this helps!
