rebuild started up 1st try and idled for about 10 minutes and now wont idle

i started my rebuild up first try and it idled nice around 1500 by its self. but after about 10 mins the car slowly died. I know that rebuilds dont idle very well till broken in .. but i cant get mine to idle at all now. I have to prop the gas pedel down. Ive done the bac and the idle screw on the tb and nothing .. checked the timing and got it close to the mark. i think i might be a tooth off or something cuz im still about 1/4 inch off fully topped out on the cas. also kevin said on his website that rebuilds need a few hours before they start to idle normally. well ive had mine running for about 2-3 hours and i still have to pump the gas to get it to fire. can anyone help me??

So have you had it running for 10 min or 2-3 hours? You say both.

If you started your car and it died after 10 min and now wont start, my guess is it's flooded.

You two suck at teh reading comprehension. He said that it won't idle without help, not that it won't start.

As for why, have you looked at the top of the engine at all? Have any vacuum hoses popped off? Is everything snug? Go after the simple things first.

check for vacuum leaks, make sure all your hoses are nice and tight and reset the CAS so you can get the timing correct.

as for the question on vaccum, im reading about 20 in-hgs of vaccum.. when i prop it at like 1500. i was told thats pretty good. but would thtis tell me if i have a leak ???? as for the timing mark .. going by what i was reading in my manual . (as if looking at the engine from the front of the car) i was suppose to put the car on tdc( the right hand mark on the pully???) and line up the timing marks on the cas and put it in right ?????

mines did the same thing, it floods when its hot. you have to try to unflood it, if the tricks wont work push start will work.

READ FIRST, then post! He has said NOTHING about it being hard to start, only hard to get to idle.

UPDATE!!! i can get it to idle only here is the trick ,,, last night i tried to time it. i was getting signal from the L1 wire . now im only getting a signal from the l2 wire. thats it. L1, T1 and T2 all dont have signals. i then hooked up a inline tester. and i have a steady signal to the plugs,, faint , but steady.. the car is running but not all that smooth and i cant time it cuz i cant get a signal on my timing gun on the appropiate wire.. and i highly doubt that this car can run on just one plug. somethings up.

I have only done this since my first post about this issue. pulled the cas and checked it ,, certainly it was dead on . i then checked all my hoses again ,, then i was that far that i decided to regasketthe uim. and adjust that hard idle screw on the tb,, i was utrning the wrong screw before. hehehe ,, but i got it idleing now just have to figuire out what the hell is going on now

So it IS idling now? If it is, what more do you have to "figure out"? I thought the idling was your whole problem?
