it should fix the "engine" problem but if you just put it back togethor with all the old vac lines etc. then no it probably wont. Make sure you run new vacuum line while you have a chance..who's rebuilding your engine?

So a rich guy who employs top pro mechanics is going to give you a bridgeport motor for 3-4 hundred. No need to worry about a vac leak! You've obviously done your homework Best of luck to you.

Sounds like you should stick to a street port. $400 to build a short block seems reasonable if the customer is supplying all parts.

Here's an example of one place that does it, this is a template so you can do it yourself - but if you are not experienced in it, I would try to find a shop to do it for you.

that answer alone means that you are not prepared for diy port work.

stick with a stock rebuild, and get a mild street port.

im not sure if your rich mechanic friend knows rotary but i would recommend to save your money for a good while and send it out to a known Rotary Specialist

Looks like you need to do much more research before you actually start this project. Just search "porting" and start reading.

Porting the engine will add about 10 hours to the build time.

I would suggest replacing all the vacuum hoses while the engine is being reinstalled. It only makes sense. Also rad hoses, belts, mounts, etc.

Just go to the local parts store and get a generic silicone vacuum line kit. About $30.
