rear wheel bearing
i need to replace my rear wheel bearing. i know that in the front there are two of them. but how many are in the rear? its off my 88 gtu parts car. i am replacing my brakes with 88 gtu brakes in the rear. long story short i cant get my driver side caliper bracket. pervouis owner broke the head of the bolt off. anyways i was just wondering how many bearings are on the rear hub assembly.

If the S4 is the same as the Series V it's a bearing hub assembly you press out, not individual bearings. You'll need to "press out" the wheel hub and then press out the bearing hub.
In my case I ended up removing the internal greese seal and removing 1/2 of the bearing assembly as my press didn't have enough ton-age
I had a machine shop press them in for me.
Note the greese seal is really just a dust seal, the axel halves slide into the dust seal. I didn't put any greese in there since the bearing assembly is self-contained and the manual didn't say greese.
Download the service manual for more details from www.fc3s.org
