Rear Rotor Failure Common????

Why is it that you hear so much about the rear rotor losing compression or blowing??? Does it run naturally leaner than the front? Just wondering if anyone has addressed this.

The rear rotor runs hotter then the front, so detonation is more likely.

It that because it is the furthest from the waterpump or are other factors contributing to its heat other than combustion and ignition.

Farther away from the pump and fresh cold air.
