Rear end question

Will a rear diff from a 87GXL swap directly into a 1988 SE I know the gearing is the same ratio but will the GXL diff work with the se axles. GXL 5lug SE 4 lug

Yes. The differential pumpkin, as an assembly, is a direct swap. Get under your car and check where the axles meet the differential, each side is held on with four bolts and four nuts and lock washers, IIRC.

The swap itself is not that difficult, but time consuming the first time you do it.

After doing mine 3 times in two weeks, I am now able to do it in about 45 mins, with a buddy, of course.
