re-stabbing the cas

I've read before on how to do this, but im not getting it, it seems.

I turn the pully to leading #1 mark. I take the cas out, and align the gear so that the marker is on the arrow on the cas. I put the cas back in centered.
It seems that I still need to turn the cas all the way to the left to get a 20 degree off timing position, how can I get the timing on dead zero by re-inserting the cas so that I can get to zero without going beyond the bolts threshhold?

I searched, and the search is not working. lol, after all the complaining i've done for people not searching, and how I never believed how their search does not work, well its not working for me.

Restabbing cas

even crank angle sensor won't bring back any results! lol.
As of the time of this post its not working, seriously lol.

Have you tried stabbing the CAS with the cover off? When doing so the gears will want to part ways when contact Is made but will end up meshing when contacted and abit of force Is made.

Yea, stab it in with the cover off. Line up the timing mark with the yellow (leading) and use a flat head screwdriver to keep the gears from moving when you stab it in.

I don't know if you can be 180 off, however I experinced that once I aligned the mark of the "crank angle sensor" with the "gear" marking, and tried inserting the CAS back in, the mark would move making my timing off. So what I did is, once I have the marks aligned, I marked the the tooth that was aligned with the fireing sensor inside the CAS. This way I always had a visual reference that kept the bottom marks aligned when insering the CAS.
After you do this check the timing with a timing gun.

My procedure:

1. Remove the 10mm nut on the CAS.
2. Pull out the CAS. (disconect the harness)
3. Remove the two screws on the black cover of the CAS.
4. Set the eccentric pully (I use a ratchet set on the alternator belt and go clockwise), the
first mark (yellow) to the pointer on the front cover of the engine.
5. Look and align the mark on the CAS housing and the gear.
6. With # 5 done mark the gear tooth inside the CAS with the pick up sensor (I used nail
polish). This will help you when stabing the CAS back in to keep and know that the mark
on the housing and gear are still align.
7. Stab the CAS back (keeping the mark you make on #6 align). I will move about a tooth
when you stab it all the way in but that is normal.
8. Putback the black cover with the screws. Put the 10mm nut back on but do not tighten
yet. (conect the harness)
9. Start the car. Use a timing light and conectit to the L1 (closer to the spark plug works
better). Now fine tune that first mark (yellow) to the pointer on the engine cover by
moving the CAS.
10. When done tighten the 10mm nut.

I hope this helps

Thanks for the descriptive reply, I'll try it out later today!
