re re rebuild update.. pretty much im in over my head i need help!!!
well i took the engine apart and measured the side seal to corner seal gap, the spec is .0020-.0060, well i took the egine apart and all my side seal gaps are like .010-.015 but the odd thing is i checked the seals from my 66k mile core and they had the same clearences?? also sometihng has seemed to gouged up my rotor bearing?? wtf idont even know what to do now? order new side seals? and get new bearings pressed in?? if that is the best i need to get some damm money some how..or should i just give up and send it to a pro like kevin or kahren or atkins or hayes(lol J/K i would never send it to hayes) but god damm what do i do??
please someone gimme some advice

Don't give up!!! If the bearing is gouged up, look for debris in the oil pan and cut open the filter to check for crap that'd be responsible for it. Also, don't forget to check the E-shaft as well, because if that's damaged at all, you're up a tree without a paddle, unless you steal it from your extra core. The bearing needs to be replaced with a gouge in it, regardless, so don't try to wriggle out of that one. Your o-rings and oil seals should be good still, unless you fudged up and pinched one or cut one on opening the block again.
Also, why are we on rebuild #3 now?

WTF, is going on i put the side seals in my 66k rotors and the clearences are perfect and then i put them in the other rotors and they are HUGE diffreince, does it make any sense that the rotors are diffrent??? if the clearence acceptable in the 66k rotor hell ill just use them hehe.,.. anyone agree/disagree anyone know why the rotor would make the diffrence

As far as I know, the first time, it was fine, but he forgot some Oil seal, or it failed, he had to open it up. That would be the first and second, now this one, 3rd, where his side seals or w/e happened.

He was having a blowby problem. He found out that on the rotors that were in his engine had a huge side seal gap (between side seal and corner seal), something in the realm of .015 or something, when the spec calls for .002-.005 or somewhere like that. HOwever, when he puts the sideseals in his rotors from a spare engine (with 66k on it), the spec was well within perfect.
My guess is that there was a tolerance issue on the corner seals, one was made with a tighter tolerance, leaving a larger side seal gap..

well i went down stairs and the spec in the 66k are rite at the edge, so i decided that i will save up and get some new side seals and new corner seals

Live and learn at least you are learning how to do it
the right way. If you can get a GOOD rotary engingine
building expert to help show you some builing tips and
tricks when building a rotary. Make sure it is someone that
you have seen all there builds run good, has a good rep,
and will show you how to do it right. Thats what I was
able to do. The little things[specs] add up, when done
right better power and reliability.
But dont give up, Great job

He's certainly close enough to give it another try, at least. Really only 2 problems here - 1st, assuming that the side seal clearance was correct without measuring, and second, possibly leaving a small spec of debris in the e-shaft that got onto the bearing , or trapping debris in the bearing on re-assembly (remember that the bearing rides on a film of oil).

Just take your time clearancing the new side seals..........
File / grind the straight cut end, and measure at the factory cut end
Once you have it clearanced, it has to install in that particular (numbered) groove every seal will end up a slightly different length, due to manufacturing tolerences on the rotors

Well i sat in the cellar with my 66k rotors and side seals and dertimied that if i used the 66k rotors i can use the side seals i have i just kave to keep trying them till one fits and is in spec. so i just got dont cleaning the 66k rotors (2 hrs of fun ) haha but the rebuild should happen tonight, this foooker aint gonna beat me, i will beat this hunk of metal and alum...

holy ****, so many trys and your engine is still messed up..
Did you watch that rotary rebuild video by chance? Or are you doing this by some kind of guide on the net or a book or what?
I spose at the least your learning from your mistakes. Its good experience non the less.

I know he had the atkins video in the very beginning, but they don't mention (in the video) very many clearances or specs for things, especially gaps. Rather, they give you a sheet with all the torque specs and measurements seperate from the video.
IMO the best thing in the world to use is just the FSM, take it step by step engine assembly and they give you most of the specs in that, all the rest is in the tech data section I believe.
