Rats Nest Removal

well... i mean its pretty self explanitory to remove. you rerout the fuel lines from the nest directtly to the fuel rails, then either delete the vacume lines, or cap some of them since i think some arent needed.

As long as you do it right, removing the rats nest will cause no problems with idle or drivability. I wouldn't recommend doing it on S5 NA's, since you have to do a bunch of rework to keep the 6PI and VDI working, and on S4 Turbos you have to do the same to keep the twin-scroll working but other than that there are no negative effects. Obviously you won't pass emissions...

SirCygnus is correct. If you have a NA then the process is easy. Ive fully finished my nest removal, only 3 vac lines, not including the ones for teh dashpot and the cold start stuff.
You pull the nest, run new fuel hose to its correct fittings, then run teh vac line from the pressure regulator to the other side of teh UIM. You can throw all the other crap out.
Now if its anythign else im confused and unsure other than a S4 NA.

The rats nest is the bundle of hard metal lines underneath the intake manifold. All the vaccum lines and teh fuel lines run through it, its rather ugly to look at and can eliminate a lot of headaches in teh future.

Thanks for the boost in confidence about this. Having to remove the UIM to get to this stuff is B.S.
I would greatly appreciate pics (after removal) or specific threads for me to check out.
Thanks.
