im pretty sure alot of fuel pumps are lubricated by the fuel in the tank...its possible that you could have screwed it up. i know after a couple of times of running the tank dry in my old honda i had to replace the fuel pump. correct me if im wrong anyone

check the plugs..see if you have Wet Plugs.(could have inadvertently flooded trying to start it)..you could always Try some "QUICKSTART" ,starting fluid(ether)..or try Pull or Push start..(rollin the car to a speed, and Droppin the clutch).. Another thing I would also be checkin Seein you ran It DRY is the Fuel Filter..It could have sucked up Crap from the bottom of the Tank ,and you aren't gettin fuel because of that....another Note..depending On Generation of car, when you hold down the gas pedal on Starting it will Give you Fuel Cut.anyhow somethin to go by..Hope you get started.EDIT..Please Be careful if you are Using Starter fluid or PUSH/Pull Startin ..

Yep...that will ruin a fuel pump in most cases.....however, turn your key on and let the system pressurizd, this is of course after you have checked for flooding

not only is the pump lubricated by the fuel it is also cooled by the fuel. did you disconnect your fuel line near the oil filter and see if it is flowing be very careful when you do this. put the hose in a 1 or 2 liter bottle and see if fuel is being pumped.

So... instead of telling him his pump is done for, which may or may not be the case...
There's a fuel pump test jumper on the passenger's side of the engine bay, near the strut tower. It's yellow, two-pronged. Short it, turn the key on, and wait for 15-20 seconds for the system to prime. If there's air in the fuel system, it won't start.

ooook so heres the update, we just tryed to push start it at 10mph then 20 then 30 and it trys to start but doesnt get any fuel. then we parked it and jacked it up and took off the fuel filter and dad blew on it and fuel goes all the way through so we dont think its the fuel filter, so what things do i have left that it can be? only thing we can think of as all of u have said pretty much is...fuel pump :s im just trying to make sure thats my last resort thing thx all and ya still cant find the fuel pump check thing(yellow thing near passenger tower) any opinions r greatly appreciated

Pinch the hose *coming off the fuel filter* in the engine bay.
If there is fuel pressure, the hose will harden up.
This is a quick-n-dirty test to see if the fuel pump is working.

Tony, I don't think you blew your engine. That was a possibility if you were revved up high enough, but I'd have to agree with everyone else here that it sounds like a fuel delivery issue.
And the quick test that Ted mentioned is a very easy way to verify if you are getting fuel to the fuel rails or not. Best of luck with getting it running again.
