Raised Idle

I have a high idle on my 88 TII and it is slowly starting to stump me. I have checked the TPS and came away with good results. I have checked for vacuum leaks and haven't really found any (yet to try the starting fluid test) I have even tried adjusting the BAC to no avail. My car just likes to sit at a cozy 1500 rpm. I have searched the threads for an answer to this because it is slightly annoying and I am tearing through fuel like it went out of style. I have new plugs, fresh oil change, and nothing abnormal besides a broken ABS pump and a very small leak in my radiator. The car pulls hard to redline and afterwards just goes back down to 1500 rpm. If I had a bridgeport I'd be ok with that idle.... but I don't. Does anyone have any fresh ideas as to what could cause this?

Just in case you were wondering, it is bone stock with all emissions. I am getting ready to pull them so I can put on my Corksport down pipe and mid pipe and go back to the dyno. I just want her in top notch condition when she does go back.

Any ideas are more than welcome at this point.

Thanks.

Make cetain it's off the fast idle cam, then jump the set coupler to check the idle. If it's 1500, lower the idle with the throttle screw to the 750/800 mark, then reset the TPS and go from there.
I really don't like to advise adjustment of the throttle screw, as there must be something that caused the idle to increase, unless it has always idled at 1500 since you've had the car. If in fact, it has increased since you've owned the car, better do so searching before using the throttle screw, as something has changed, and by adjusting the throttle screw you'd just be masking the problem.

my car was idling similar, I actually had the idle increased but since I removed the air pump off the car it idles at around 800rpm, I increased the idle because th a/c was really draining the car at idle and stalling when I acelerated from a stop, its winter now so I dont use the a/c heh... 800 will do till summer I guess

It's winter? Jesus, it is summer here lol.

I'll give those ideas a shot and try to troubleshoot this idle back down.

yeah winter alright fun leaving for work this morning at 5:30am, I found when my car does idle up higher than usual I hold it in gear with the clutch on then ride it slightly so it brings the rpm down too 750-800 then put the clutch in and it stays at that rpm fine
