Rain and 4-way flashers

I have an '88 RX7 10th anniversary, and when it rains, even if the car is not running, the 4-way flashers will come on and I can't get them to turn off. Eventually, they go off by themselves. I assume it is a short, but so far it has only done this when it rains, but maybe the rain is not involved, I don't know. If it is a short, where can I look to try and fix this? Thanks!

You either have a leak behind the glove box (most likely) or in the drivers's kick panel and it is shorting either the factory alarm, or the CPU wiring.

Mark I was hoping you would offer your opinion. I've been helping a bit on this car. I found a couple of small spots of corrosion on the CPU when I resoldered all the original points. I also found some water damage in the original N333 ECU. I swapped out the original with my original from my 88. The trailing coil was not firing and a change out with a known working unit confirmed it was not the coil ignitor . I also found a couple of spots in the harness with rodent damage which I repaired and wrapped. Once the CPU was resoldered and the ECU were changed it runs MUCH better than when first brought to me and trailing is working now. The car sat for a period evident by the rodent damage. It is still with the original owner and has 108k on the clock.

fosterd804 better cover the car or garage it until you find and fix the leaks. Turbo ECUs are expensive even used ones on the for sale board. CPUs are a little easier and not quite so high $

Yeah Rodent Damage can mean there can be shorts anywhere. That can be a true curse for a car.
