Radio surround gauge install :)
Finally installed my gauges in my radio surround. I used that plastic you buy from the car stereo place. Ended up rather good. A stereo is in the plans...just not now
From left to right there is oil temp, intake temp, and egt.
I decided to use a circuit block for the connections. Tried to cut down on the crazy splicing and but connectors with it. So far I am happy I used that block.

I still have the TMIC so I put the sensor into the rubber 90° bend after the IC. I screwed it in and RTVed it.
I ended up getting machine screws. Cut the first two threads off and screwed four of them into those little holes on the backside of the surround. Worked really well. Just make sure that screw isnt too long or it will poke out of the front of your surrond.

You can get a 160w stereo that plays CD-RW's for <$80.
Then you can burn 6 hours of your favorite MP3's on a CD-R, so you don't need a changer.
And - they DON'T SKIP!

Of course you can't see the 150w Palomar linear behind the seat.
Here's the trick: set the transmitter to 10 watts to overdrive the linear and set the linear to max. Then the output splatters (broadbands) into the police bands.
Anonymous voice on nearby cop's radio: "Did you see how fast that Honda was going?"

I used to have the CB in my truck hooked up to an amplifier. I could turn it on next to someone with a cb on and watch smoke come from their dash, as it would burn theirs up. I could also talk through the drive through about 1/2 mile away on a certain channel. It was quite fun.

I got the Autometer first (silver), followed by the Air temp gauge because the price was right...and the Greddy....should have not gone with white though

Wankel7's looks great. I'm lining up the same thing with a digital IAT display and (probably) oil pressure and water temp, installed using the same easy method.

mounted my guages on the top part of center, where ac vent is, also you can attach the plastic to the back of the surround with screws, but youll need to tap holes for them.

I would love to install my gauges where the logicon is and relocate it down to where the stereo should be...
I guess time will tell on my gauges...I have the two most important ones (to me) on the A pilar. Boost and water temp.
Wideband is in the gauge surrond... oil pressure is by my left knee.
Don't get me wrong....oil temp is important. But if it all starts going wrong the water temp should move first.....and the fastest with the oil temp creeping up.
