They help direct air coming in from the front of the bumper to go through the rad. instead of flowing over it which is the easier route. This lowers temps and is a good mod.

Make a template out of cardboard, then cut it out. Add stickers to taste.

I'll see if I got any pics.

i'm pretty sure he isn't making them. he only made himself one. it is almost impossible to create a universal one. everyone has a different setup.

BTW... i can't find any aluminum sheet metal that is thick enough to not "flex" anywhere. where do you get this stuff? the home depot over here is a no go

it's about time more people do this.. who wants to see the uglyness of all those wires/hoses/hoodlatch/horns?

mine

if you have the stock radiator make the edges runonto the radiator and block the gap were the sponge is since it disappears and lets air through

I made this in under an hour with a $10 peice of aluminum. I still need to cut an opening for the overflow bottle since I picked up a "normal" front FC coolant overflow tank (the early '86 is a side mounted unit.)

Heheh.....I make some and sell them on eBay though I think most approach it with the "I can just spend $10 at Home Depot and make my own" lol.

Here's the one on my car (before paint)....

And the ones I sell....

One I made for Dave Gibson at Speed Machine Performance...

To an extent, yes. Creating new lettering for the cutting program takes some time and I generally charge extra for that. PM me for details though as it's not my intention to hi-jack this thread

I've been meaning to get one of the ones you make, as soon as I get a little extra cash I will be getting yours because I don't think 40 is a bad price at all. The only problem I've got with the one that says rx7 is that I was woundering if like the "D" in mazda is flimsy because its only being held in by that little piece???

I've actually been concerned about that too but haven't gotten any feedback on problems with it. I am working on another lettering style that's much better as far as cutting it on the waterjet (it's the same lettering style that the "Speed Machine" panel was made with) but I'm just waiting to sell the last couple of the current lettering style that I have before I begin cutting any more.
