Racing seats with auto-belts?
I figure a few of you have racing seats in your car. Any of you put them in a car with auto belts? Were you still able to use the stock auto belt system?

You can continue to use the auto seat belts but it depends on the style and design of the racing seats. True race seats like a Kirkey are too deep and would not allow the auto strap to be against your body. This would not be safe.
Race looking seats or race/street seats like a Recaro, Spaco or Corbeau are usually designed to work with stock seat belts. Your only issue may be being able to reach the attachment point for the lap belt.
I had a Kirkey Intermediate seat in my track car. (http://www.ioportracing.com/Merchant...egory_Code=KRS)
There was no way to use the stock belts with it. You had to have a 5pt. harness wich requited at minimum a rollbar or full rollcage to install correctly. Don't trust the 5pt. shoulder belts that mount below the line of your shoulders.
