Quietest exhaust possible = an exhaust system made out of mufflers

Get an RB cat back system, they are "tame" so to speak. Just use a pair of cats before the RB system and that should keep things muffled nicely.

What are you running now thats setting off car alarms? open single w/o cat?

The 2.5" cat back system with MagnaFlow's on my 87 n/a are fairly quiet when doing "normal" around town driving and it sounds aggressive when "on it" I personally dont care much for it(bought the car with this system on it) but others do seem to like it, its all a matter of personal prefferance...

here is a link to MagnaFlows "sound area" of the site.

I would say Bonez High Flow Cat to a an RP exhaust which is pretty much the old HKS dual exhaust.

then the more pricier option is the RB Catback

Other than stock I had the old style HKS and Pacesetter, they both sucked and they were both quietest systems I've had. And I've had 9 exhaust systems between my 2 7'S.

I would go with RB if I were you and wanted performance with minimal noise.

I ran a similar setup. I had a magnaflow where the 2nd cat was supposed to be, then ran 2 magnaflow duals out back. It was really quiet, and when under full throttle, it was just the sound of a ton of air moving, really raspy. That's on a TII though.

If i dint have several exhaust leaks from using autozone gaskets id post up some sort of sound clip, its low volume, deep pitched, sounds orgasmic especially when you get up past 4k and it opens up.

quietest possible would be the stock exhaust system.

what do you want? performance or quietness? you can't have both.

stock exhaust. if you want aftermarket go with a precat and a bonez main cat with a greddy dual SP catback (quietest on the market).

Highflow cat + RB mufflers for the win! Kinda spendy, but a great balance of power to noise. My system with the header is under 95db per California's standard. We put the slightly louder RB TII mufflers on a friend's car and it still sounds pretty tame with a stock exhaust manifold and gutted cats. With a cat, it could have been mistaken for stock under light load and sounded great wide open! Don't bother buying their y-pipe, though; It's chrome plated and the same pipe diameter as stock.

I have an older Borla dual setup (from about 1998) on my street ported N/A with a stainless downpipe and a Random Technology cat. For several years before that, I had the same setup with the Bonez cat. With either cat, the sound is low pitched and kind of rumbly and I'd say moderately loud but not terrible. However, both setups have set off car alarms sometimes, especially in concrete parking garages where there's an echo. It seems to depend on the car alarm too. I always trigger some guy's late 90s Firebird in my neighborhood when he parks it on the street.
