question about bones main cat race pipe setup

Ok, so I am trying to get a decent set up at a cheaper price and i have come up with setup i want to run with if its possible. i found the bones main cat race pipe go here http://rx7.com/store/rx7/FC25racepipe.html to see. I want to run this with a stock catalytic converter thats brand new with the six port actuator pick up tube. I have an 86 NA. Has anybody had any experience with this or know how it will work? I see theyre selling a setup like what im trying to put together for about 400 bucks and im getting the cat converter for 80 and the race pipe for 160 seperate. Any help is appreciated.oh and i am thinking about running a single exhaust. thanks.

If you're looking to make more power by doing this I'd recommend getting a highflow cat and having a pick up tube welded in before the cat instead.

not looking for power neccesarily just trying to make it work. the other exhaust they have i was talking about has a "presilencer" looks like after the high flow cat with 6 port tube pick up. the presilencer looks almost exacltly like the race pipe and i am suspicious that it is the same thing. I dont want a loud exhaust either. maybe i should buy a presilencer with downpipe instead?

A presilencer is a lot less restrictive than a cat, it will definitely be louder that way. On the other hand, the stock cats can melt and clog later in their life, but if you're buying new you shouldn't have to worry about that for a while.

i think i will go with the race pipe and cat converter. i plan on doing a true dual set up in the future when i have the cash to do so but as of now i just dont want to be breathing in those fumes.

The picture you posted is of a pipe that replaces the main catalytic converter. It is not possible to run that pipe in tandem with a stock catalytic converter. A presilencer would also replace the main catalytic converter.

so would the second cat go after the race pipe? since the race pipe is eliminating the main cat but not the second?

That race pipe eliminates all catalytic converters, both pre and main. That pipe would go from the stock exhaust manifold to your Y-pipe.
