you can re-route the pneumatic signal to come from the primary runner,, engine side
vacuum on this side will hold secondary delay throttles shut
they will open to same throttle setting as the primary when the primary porting becomes restrictive an 0 vacuum or load begins to build in the primary inlet

you may need to add a little pill and make a little pinhole in the vacuum line to the valve to prevent the engine continuing to accelerate by itself in high gears when you lift throttle

( as it can create a surge of pressure into the partly open primary throttle and give an almost cruise control effect ,, it will break the signal if you also clutch in and remove load from the engine )

to do this method you must have the right TB,, and i am unsure if this same early arrangement is avail on the NA TB

I went out this morning and ran a straight vacuum line to the diaphram for the outer secondarys. Drove the car. Happy and pleased as punch. The car now has the same torque as my stk turboII when driving in the neighborhood/city/round the block type driving. Nomore will I open its door and mutter "gutless wonder" when I go for a drive.

Now I've gotta get with the program and make the rest of system ie. solenoid etc.

Thanks you BumpStart. That's easily the second or third best idea I picked up off this forum to date. Car has *DRIVEABILITY " now vs the loathsome slug it was prior to this (always ran Great when over 3000 rpm, sucked below).

Great day Feb 16, 2011........passed emissions inspection this morning also. Does not get any better than this.

This opening and closing of the outter set of secondary throttle plates (Number 2 secondary throttle plates) using the double throttle diaphram as the tool to do so when YOU want them to open..........makes me wonder if someone who has removed their aux sleeves (non turbo cars), and is not satisfied with the results (lack of low end torque), could use this idea to restore the low end torque without putting the stk intak sleeves back in.

Like use the double throttle diaphram and a solenoid to determine when the no.2 set open and shut. Or like BUMPSTART mentioned........use the no.2 opening/shutting in lieu of what the original aux actuators did in life. I never removed my sleeves on my 86 na so I can't play with that idea. But maybe someone out there with a gutted/sleeveless secondary intake might get a germ of an idea off this thread and try it on his own and see how that helps out.

I'll have to try this on my halfbridge S4 turbo rotor, S5 turbo Iron/intake naturally aspirated mutt I'm building. It should be even more advantageous down low than simply a half bridge.
